To achieve the first objective, it is proposed to not only increase the number of connections but to also foster a stronger sense of community. By organizing events, meetups, and mentorship programs, individuals will have more opportunities to interact with one another and develop meaningful relationships. Only over a third of immigrants have invested in local businesses. By increasing the number of investments, connections will multiply, resulting in more mentorships and greater investment in the local ecosystem.
In order to invest in talent, it is suggested to improve STEM education in schools and universities. This will not only equip individuals with the necessary skills to succeed in the workforce but will also help reform the immigration system. With a more streamlined process for bringing in international talent, South Florida will be able to attract more highly skilled individuals who can contribute to the growth of the ecosystem
Finally, it is important to ensure representation among South Florida migrants. This can be achieved by supporting founders and talent from underrepresented backgrounds. By providing resources, mentorship, and funding, individuals who may have otherwise been overlooked will have greater opportunities to succeed and contribute to the ecosystem. Overall, these recommendations are aimed at enhancing the South Florida ecosystem by promoting connectivity, investing in talent, and ensuring diversity and representation.
